Well, the day was going great. We got up and ready and went to get our shots. I thought everything was going great and not really knowing what to expect I thought wow she is doing great. Not a hitch in the day until....the crying began and wow I had never heard a cry from her like this. Here I was all full of myself and thinking this was easy. Let me just describe the day you could find me at the computer frantically looking up how I could possible make my daughter feel better from these shots. Then tears and praying poured from my eyes and mouth. I never could imagine that this day could get better. Tylenol was our friend. Every time Lauren would move the screaming would start all over again. Finally after the 3rd dose of the miracle liquid the screaming subsided and we were a little better. I think this day I felt more like a mother than ever. I am not sure why, maybe it was the pain that was written all over her little face or my crying out to God for help. But whatever it was it felt great. She weighed in around 10 lbs and is looking wonderful.
Allen is an amazing dad and soaks up all the time he can holding her. I chuckle to myself because during this whole process all I heard was I don't know if I can do it. What kind of dad can or will I be. Those papa instincts were stronger than he could ever imagine.
Lauren is smiling more when you talk to her. This is so much fun. We find ouselves turing the TV to mute or off just to get a few smiles from her. Forever loving our new stage of life. Talk with you soon. Penny

A Check Up
Miss Lauren had her 1 month check up and is doing great. Weighing in at 9 lbs and 20 in long, boy is she growing!!! Dr. Stutzman said she lookes great!! She is growing and holding her head up longer and is more alert while awake. She is getting close to eating 5 ozs. and we are enjoying watching the changes in her. Lauren and I are getting ready to decorate for fall, we will see if we really get anything done or not.
Allen is getting used to juggling work, school and being a dad. He still finds it all a little overwhelming but all in all better. I am just enjoying my new stage in life. I can honestly say I have it pretty great. I am doing my dream job and I thank God for the blessing.
Have a great day. Penny
